HOUSING Association’s Bike Shelter Bid Rejected By Planners

INVERCLYDE planners have refused permission for bicycle shelters in the east end of Greenock.

Housing association River Clyde Homes wanted to provide three shelters in the front gardens of 20, 22 and 24 Ladyburn Street.

Each was to have room for up to eight bikes.

Council officials said the structures would be prominent and made of materials that contrasted with surrounding buildings.

They rejected the proposal saying the location and design of the shelters failed to “reflect local architecture and urban form”.
