HOT Food Takeaway Plan For Empty Greenock Betting Shop

PLANNERS are being asked to approve a new hot food takeaway outlet with seating at a former bookmakers in Greenock.

A change-of-use application has been made for premises at 172 Dunlop Street, Barr’s Cottage.

A supporting statement included with the proposal states: “The applicant and his colleagues run takeaways in Glasgow and also run the nearby car wash in Greenock giving them a very good knowledge of the district and its trading potential.”

The document states that 13 indoor seats would be provided to “enable customers to consume their food sheltered during inclement weather”.

No details are given regarding the kind of food that would be sold.

The application is pending consideration by council officials.
