HOT Food Takeaway Approved For Empty Filling Station Shop

PLANNERS have given the go-ahead for a hot food takeaway at a Wemyss Bay garage.

The proposal involves the disused shop at the filling station in Shore Road.

The application was made by Shore Shack takeaway who plan to move from their premises in Shore Road, Skelmorlie.

Proposed opening hours are 7am to 9pm each day, possibly until 10pm, Thursday to Sunday.

An Inverclyde Council planning department report states: “This proposal would bring clear community and economic benefits best achieved at this central, accessible and commercial location.”

Officials were satisfied that similar and compatible uses were located nearby and that the change-of-use would not result in detriment to the amenity of the area.
