THREE young members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team took part in the West of Scotland swimming time trials.

Zak Gallacher and siblings Paige and Kian McLean all qualified to compete in the SDS National Junior Swimming Championships for Swimmers with a Learning Disability.

This was held at Tollcross International Aquatics Centre in Glasgow last week.

This was Paige and Kian’s first time competing in this competition and, after a day of really tough races, the trio returned with three medals.

Paige won a silver medal in the 50-metre breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 100-metre freestyle.

Kian had two great swims and just missed out on a medal for the 25-metre freestyle.

Zak won a bronze medal in the 25-metre backstroke.
