Inverclyde Now Logo PUBLIC Notice — Second Phase Of Inverclyde Windfarm Turbine Delivery Convoys

THE second phase of turbine deliveries to Inverclyde Windfarm is scheduled to start on Tuesday (4 August) and is expected to be completed by Wednesday 26 August.

The turbines will be delivered to the windfarm entrance at Dougliehill Road under police escort.

On each day, two police-escorted convoys will depart from King George V Dock in Glasgow and travel along the M8 and A8 to Greenock, where they will then access the site via the following roads:

— Travel along the A8/Greenock Road Westbound until Woodhall roundabout

— From Woodhall roundabout, take the exit along Glasgow road

— Left onto Clune Brae

— Straight on to Dubbs Road

— On to Dougliehill Road

— Left into the site entrance

— Across the B788 Kilmacolm Road on to the wind farm site.

The turbine components will be delivered by slow moving vehicles under police escort. Police Scotland has advised of the following delivery times:

— First convoy scheduled to leave King George V Dock at 0930 and arrive at site at approximately 1130

— Second convoy will leave King George V Dock at 1230 and arrive at site at approximately 1430

Police Scotland do however have absolute discretion to change these times.

The police escort is provided for the safety of other road users and as such other road users may be stopped or diverted by the police as the escort progresses.
