COMMUNITY Hub Plans Submitted For Old Port Glasgow Building

PLANNING permission is being sought for the next phase of redevelopment of historic Port Glasgow premises.

Inverclyde Council plans to turn the B-listed King George VI property in King Street into a community hub.

Work will include a new roof, replacement windows, changes to the internal layout and a rear access stair extension.

The building, which dates back to the 1700s, will have meeting rooms, office space and a café, becoming the new home for Clune Park Resource Centre.

The local authority has been awarded £1.2million of Scottish Government regeneration funding for the next phase, following initial £1million restoration work.

The plans are now awaiting approval from local planners.
