A GREENOCK-based marine services company’s revised plans for new harbourside facilities have been approved.

Inverclyde planning officers have given permission for Clyde Marine Ltd to build new offices plus welfare, workshop and storage space, replacing its current portable buildings at Victoria Harbour.

They approved changes to a previous proposal that was given the go-ahead in May 2023.

The decision report by officials states: “The proposed buildings have a functional appearance and are not considered to be excessive in size and can be readily accommodated without resulting in overdevelopment.”

Another scheme was proposed in 2020, but was later withdrawn.

Founded in 1913, Clyde Marine provides tug services, charter cruise vessels and harbour services all over the west coast.
