SEPTEMBER sunshine provided ideal conditions at Greenock parkrun as 15 runners improved their times and achieved a personal best.

The weekly five-kilometre event at The Esplanade welcomed 108 people including six taking part for the first time.

Greg Stringfellow completed his 50th parkrun — Greg has done all but one of his parkruns at Greenock and has a personal best (PB) of 22:16.

Fiona MacFarlane, above, showed her hard work in training for an upcoming hill running challenge is paying off — she was delighted with a reduced time of 21:51.

Callum Robertson, right, was also pleased to get his first PB in two years to reach 19:09. Helen Crawford continued her run of good from with a second PB in three weeks to achieve 27:36.

Others improving their times were Gordon McKechnie, David Caitens, Eric Lindsay, Gordon Robertson, Irene McIntosh, Graeme Boyce, Angus Shearer, Fiona Moir, Steven O’Hare, Collette Brown, Susan Anderson and Joe Ellis.
