GREENOCK Parkrunners Brave Wind And Rain

8 November, 2021 | Sport

EIGHTY-six participants didn’t let tough conditions put them off at the weekly Greenock parkrun on The Esplanade on Saturday.

Three runners — Lee McLaughlan (23:36), David McEwan (26:32) and Tommy Johnston (29:22) — even managed to beat their personal best times over the five-kilometre course despite the wind and rain.

Paul Monaghan was the first male to finish, in a time of 17:36, with Fiona MacFarlane the first female to cross the line in 22.34.

There were five people running at Greenock parkrun for the first time and two taking part in their first ever parkrun.

Stephen Fulton celebrated completing his 50th parkrun.
