GREENOCK Golf Club have been crowned Inverclyde Golf’s 2023 Team Champions.
Greenock edged out Whinhill on a count-back (holes won) after both clubs finished with five points.
The event involves 12-man teams from Gourock Golf Club, Greenock Golf Club, Port Glasgow Golf Club and Whinhill Golf Club and is held at one of the four clubs on a yearly rota basis with 2023 being Greenock’s turn to host.
The competitors were treated to a course set-up in great condition.
The contest consists of 12 four-ball, better-ball matches with each club playing two matches against the other three clubs.
Organisers thank all four golf clubs, especially the team captains Barry Higgins (Gourock G.C.), David MacFarlane / Stephen Mullan (Greenock G.C.), Evan Conway / Steven McLeod (Port Glasgow G.C.) and John Donald (Whinhill G.C.), for fielding teams.
