Martin Compston leaving Greenock Municipal Buildings after filming for In Plain Sight in July 2016
GREENOCK actor Martin Compston has been nominated for a top award for his portrayal of a notorious Scottish killer in the mini-series In Plain Sight, some of which was filmed locally.
Compston is short-listed in the best television actor category in the BAFTA Scotland 2017 awards.

Another actor who appeared in the programme — Douglas Henshall — is also in the running for the same award.
In Plain Sight dramatised Lanarkshire detective William Muncie’s quest in the 1950s to bring killer Peter Manuel to justice.
Scenes were filmed in the old court room in Greenock Municipal Buildings in July 2016.

Martin Compston’s acting career started when he appeared in the 2002 Ken Loach film Sweet Sixteen. He is now best known for his role in BBC crime drama Line Of Duty. He has most recently been filming for a starring role in major new movie Mary Queen of Scots, as the Earl of Bothwell, alongside Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.
