INVERCLYDE Council says it is not proceeding with plans for traffic calming on a busy Gourock street.
Speed cushions were proposed for Kirn Drive, between its junctions with Arran Road and Divert Road, as part of a project to make Kirn Drive one-way.
But the council now state: “We’ve listened to feedback from consultation about proposed speed bumps on Kirn Drive, Gourock, as part of wider road safety improvements and decided not to proceed with speed bumps at this time.
“We will now focus on introducing an experimental one-way system on Kirn Drive and associated streets, an idea which received support from 75 per cent of people who took part in a recent consultation.”
