GOUROCK Shopkeeper Sickened By Teenage Drink Thieves

16 July, 2021 | Local

A SHOPKEEPER chased two boys who stole £60 worth of alcohol from his store in Gourock.

The teenagers grabbed several bottles — including Grey Goose vodka worth £45 — from Big Night In, Kempock Street on Thursday around 6pm.

Shopkeeper Graham Paterick pursued the thieves across to the pierhead area behind the train station but they escaped.

He said: “It’s really upsetting. We work seven days a week and the shop has been quiet because of the pandemic and this happens.”

The theft was recorded by the shop security cameras and is being investigated by police. Anyone who can help identify the thieves is urged to call officers on 101.
