THE owners of the Cardwell Inn, Gourock, have put the business up for sale.
The pub in Cardwell Road, which is leased, has been trading for around 90 years.
Online information about the sale states: “The Cardwell Inn is a popular local community public bar, that has steadily increased turnover year on year over the successful 15 years that the current owners have had in this establishment, helping local charities and helping with employment recruiting locally for their bar / waiters and waitresses.
“The Cardwell Inn is a mix between a public bar that attracts and is well supported by the local community and tourists in the summer months with the ferry terminal nearby, and an increasingly popular restaurant with a traditional menu offering an extensive range of meals for both day time and evening dinners.
“The current owners feel this area of the business has great potential to increase the current excellent turnover…if marketing was increased, but at the moment it suits their requirements as they are looking to take things easier as they look into retirement thus the reluctant business opportunity which they are now offering, best suited for either an experienced operator or a couple with some hospitality experience.”
The restaurant has seating for 60, with another 80 seated or standing within the bar area. A beer garden area at the front can seat around 30 customers.
