GOUROCK Golf Club hosted its annual Burgh Open trophy.
The course, which was prepared to perfection by the hard-working green staff, welcomed 128 members and visitors all hoping to take home the trophy from one of the club’s more prestigious events.
A strong wind made life difficult for the competitors however there was still some fantastic scoring done by both members and visitors alike.
With the Club Championship just around the corner, it came as no real surprise to see some of the leading contenders coming into form nicely.
Steven Higgins come out on top with a magnificent -1 gross score which resulted in him taking home the Burgh trophy. This will give Steven great confidence as he looks to add another Club Championship to his collection in the coming weeks.
In the handicap section, Andrew Hayne from Largs Golf Club pipped David Lindsay of Gourock to take home top prize.
Both players shot brilliant nett 68’s but it was Andrew who had the better inward nine which resulted in him returning with the silverware to Largs Golf Club.
