WHINHILL Golf Club’s new champion is John Donald, who managed to secure victory in the 36-hole final against his brother, Stephen by the score of 3&2.
This is an unprecedented 10th championship win for John, a testament to his competitiveness, skill and longevity.
Stephen made a fine comeback to make John work hard for the victory.
Paul Allan and Kenny Beaton claimed victory in their respective finals against Jim Dougan and Brian Hamil in the handicap championships which have been a great addition over the last few years.
Whinhill Golf Club thanks Kerry, Millie, Ronnie and Stuart from Inverclyde Leisure for all their help and the greenkeepers for presenting the course in such great condition.
The club also thanks the Match and Handicap team of David Ellis and Chris McDiarmid for their tremendous efforts in the organisation of the club championship and the busy golfing calendar throughout the year.
