McGill’s Group managing director Alex Hornby said: “We are delighted to team up with Inverclyde Council in providing free bus travel across Inverclyde on Free Bus Friday.
“The bus is the solution to the two key problems of congestion and carbon emissions. This World Car Free Day we can all do our bit for our planet — and local area – by reducing traffic on our roads and cutting our carbon footprint.
“We are also keen that we do our bit to drive up trade and footfall in our brilliant local towns, businesses, shops and attractions.
“We are passionate in spreading our positive message about bus travel in Inverclyde and we’d love for as many people as possible to make the most of the bus network — the majority of which now is run by advanced, hi-tech and hi-spec zero emission electric buses.
“It’s great for Inverclyde and the perfect way to celebrate World Car Free Day.”
