THERE will be five candidates contesting the Inverclyde seat at the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary election, Inverclyde Council have confirmed.
The deadline for nominations closed this afternoon.
The candidates are:
Francesca Brennan, Scottish Labour Party
Jamie Greene, Scottish Liberal Democrats
Stuart McMillan, Scottish National Party (SNP)
Malcolm Offord, Reform UK
Ted Runciman, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

The election takes place on Thursday 7 May when polls will be open from 7am and close at 10pm.
Voters will be given two ballot papers and will be asked to vote for their constituency MSP and their region MSPs from a list of Parties/Candidates.
This election will be for the new Inverclyde constituency following recent boundary changes with the Inverclyde seat now including the entirety of the Inverclyde Council boundary. Inverclyde sits within the West of Scotland region.
The count will take place the day after the election on Friday 8 May at Greenock Town Hall from 9am.
Key dates for the election are:
20 April: Register to vote by 11:59pm
21 April: Apply for postal vote by 5pm
28 April: Apply for proxy vote by 5pm
