FIRE At Shop In Greenock

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a shop in central Greenock this morning.

Crews were called to the Costcutter store in Roxburgh Street at the West Station just after 8am (Monday).

Residents above the shop had to leave their homes as the blaze was brought under control.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The road was closed while the incident was dealt with.

Police confirmed the blaze was not being treated as deliberate, with the cause believed to be an electrical fault.
