MEN over 40 can get a free prostate cancer test in Greenock town centre on Friday (20 February), as McGill’s Buses extend their support for a nationwide screening initiative.
The company has added an extra day following the success of sessions earlier this week.
The testing is part of the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative which aims to improve diagnosis and gather vital information to shape future testing and treatment.
Testing, by taking a blood sample, will be available at the Kerr Hall, 11 George Square, PA15 1QP, on Friday (20 February) between 10am and 3pm. Walk-ins will be accepted until 2pm and slots can be booked online (follow the instructions below, using SCOTLAND if prompted for a code.)
McGill’s co-owner Sandy Easdale said: “We’re delighted to extend our free prostate screening for both our employees and the local community. There’s been a tremendous response throughout the week with men saying they’re happy to support a good cause and at the same time get themselves tested.”
Co-owner James Easdale said: “Everyone I have spoken to who has taken part in this programme has said they realise that early detection can help save lives and that’s why they’ve been turning up in droves.”
