THE property arm of businessmen Sandy and James Easdale has added two more Inverclyde sites to its holdings.

Dalglen Investments has acquired a disused Inverclyde Council depot in Anderson Street, Port Glasgow, pictured, and the former Breedon Aggregates quarry site in Orchard Street, Greenock.

The Anderson Street building covers 1,100 square metres of offices, staff areas and yard space and is close to the former Port Glasgow Job Centre at Scarlow Street, which was secured by Dalglen Investments in December 2019.

The quarry operation closed last year. The site is close to Easdale family commercial interests Blairs Windows and Doors and Arc Fleet Services

Development proposals for both sites are underway and are being delivered by Gourock firm, Rebecchi Architectural.

The latest acquisitions follow the purchase of the former Watt Brothers department store in Glasgow in September.

It’s estimated that there are £400million worth of property and construction developments currently being led by the Easdale family.

The Easdales brothers issued a statement saying: “We are pleased to be able to conclude these two assets and welcome them into the broader portfolio, which continues to diversify through our acquisition strategy.

“These are two high-potential sites that we plan to develop to bring them back into use and provide economic opportunities for businesses.

“The Anderson Street Depot is a vast overall site providing plenty of opportunities, and something we believe can further complement this part of Port Glasgow.

“The Orchard Street site is an area that is classified in the top 10 per cent of the most deprived areas in Scotland as per the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation, and so this will be an important site to improve the economic development of this part of Greenock.”

Both acquisitions were completed in November 2020, with the sites to be marketed by Gourock-based commercial property letting agency, Bowman Rebecchi.
