A MOTORIST allegedly tried to escape from a police patrol which stopped him at 4.40am in Greenock
Officers pulled over the vehicle on Maple Road on Sunday.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said; “The male driver allegedly failed to stop and tried to make off from the officers on foot.
“He was eventually caught and allegedly found to be in possession of a lock-back knife, a large sum of cash and drugs with approximate street value of £1,600.”
The 33-year-old was arrested and charegd with a number of offences.
He was held in custody to appear at court.
