DRIVER Rescued After Crashing Into Ravine

A MULTI-agency emergency response was launched after a vehicle left the road and ended up on its side in a ravine.

The crash happened on Kilmacolm Road, Greenock, around 7pm on Thursday.

Sergeant Jason Logsdon of Inverclyde police said: “The driver was trapped requiring Scottish Fire and Rescue to secure the car to prevent it falling further and safely remove the driver whereby she was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Enquiries continue however there no charges at this time.”
