A 26-YEAR-old man has been charged with a drink-driving offence after a crash in Greenock.
Police responded to a report that a van had collided with a lamppost on Bow Road around 11.20pm on Friday.
The driver was traced nearby. He allegedly failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.
He is scheduled to appear at court on a later date.
Area commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron said: “It is totally unacceptable for anyone to drive a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol.”
