POLICE caught a motorist who was allegedly driving while under the influence of cocaine and cannabis.
Road policing officers stopped a vehicle on Inverkip Road, Greenock at 9pm yesterday (Wednesday).
The 23-year-old allegedly failed the roadside drug screening test and was charged.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron said: “This is an excellent example of the support we receive from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit here in Inverclyde.
“It is completely unacceptable to drive a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of controlled drugs.
“This arrest should serve as a message to those who drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs to think again.”
