TWO would-be robbers who attacked a man in Greenock fled empty-handed after a woman intervened.
The pair approached the 43-year-old man in Ann Street around 1pm yesterday (Saturday) and forced him to the ground.
They were going through the man’s pockets when a woman, aged 50 to 60, who had seen what was happening, stepped in.
The men ran off. One was in his 40s and the other in his 20s.
Detectives urge witnesses — especially the woman who helped — to call them on 101, quoting incident 2201 of 30 May.
