INVERCLYDE Council is being urged to ask women for their views about how safe they feel in public places.
Councillor Lynne Quinn has put a request to a full meeting of the council calling for agreement that officials carry out consultation.
If approved, a report would be compiled determining if women and girls “perceive any safety impediment in using Inverclyde public paths, parks and cycle ways” and, if so, how this could be addressed.
The meeting takes place next week.
