THERE was one Covid-19-related death registered in Inverclyde during the last week of May, according to the latest official figures.
The area’s coronavirus-linked death toll stood at 110 by 31 May.
Thirty-eight of the deaths have been in care homes, 61 in hospital and 11 elsewhere in the community.
The figures from the National Records of Scotland relate to deaths for which Covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate.
Pandemic fatalities were at their highest in the week beginning 6 April, when 26 people died, followed by a further 25 the next week.
Coronavirus-related deaths have now been registered in Inverclyde for 10 weeks.
