NEW weekly figures show that three more Covid-19-related deaths have been registered in Inverclyde, all of them in care homes.
The total is the same as in the previous week.
The area’s official coronavirus-linked death toll rose to 109 in the week ending 24 May, according to the National Records of Scotland.
Thirty-eight of the deaths have been in care homes, 60 in hospital and 11 elsewhere in the community.
The figures relate to deaths for which Covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate.
Fatalities were at their highest in the week beginning 6 April, when 26 people died, followed by a further 25 the next week.
This was the ninth week in which there were coronavirus-related deaths in Inverclyde.
