GREENOCK’S fire station museum has its next open day on Sunday (30 April) from noon to 4pm. The museum is in the old fire station at the Municipal Buildings, Wallace Place, just off Dalrymple Street. (Vehicle access is currently only via Hunter Place car park.)

THE Friends of Ardgowan Hospice are holding a fashion show in St Joseph's and St Patrick's Church hall, Wemyss Bay on Friday 5 May at 7pm featuring clothes by The Dressing Room, Saltcoats. Entry is by £5 donation ticket available from the hospice Access Centre, 2 Ardgowan Street, Greenock. 

GOUROCK Library has had to close after an accidental water leak from a flat above it. Inverclyde Council say it will re-open on Thursday although the Bookbug session on Thursday has had to be cancelled as the children's area is worst affected by the water.

THE World Ship Society Firth of Clyde branch is holding its last winter meeting this Thursday (27 April) in Cedars School, 31 Ardgowan Square, Greenock, at 7.30pm when committee member Paul Strathdee will present his annual show, entitled Year on the Clyde 2016.  New members are welcome.
