Inverclyde Now Logo VOLUNTEERS Needed For Custody Visiting Service

17 February, 2017 | Noticeboard

THE Scottish Police Authority (SPA) have vacancies for custody visiting volunteers in the Inverclyde area.

Independent Custody Visiting is a statutory function of the SPA whereby regular visits are undertaken by volunteer members of the community to places where people are deprived of their liberty.

This allows them to monitor the care and welfare of detainees and ensure their human rights are being observed.

Visitors are independent of both the SPA and the police.

The SPA want to increase the number of visitors currently volunteering in the Inverclyde area.
