GREENOCK Camera Club’s meeting tonight (Thursday) features a lecture on creative portraiture from professional photographer Fiona Brims.

Her work includes weddings, family and creative portraiture and corporate events.

The meeting is at Greenock Golf Club, Forsyth Street at 7.15.

Last week the club’s second monthly competition was judged by Mark McColl of Ayr Photographic Society who gave tips on how to improve and take pictures to another level.

Campbell Skinner, Bernie Clark, Gary Bradley and Geoff Orr had images that the judge particularly liked.

A number of members attended the Simpson Memorial Trophy hosted by Inverclyde Camera Club in the Pirrie Hall, Greenock.

The trophy is contested local camera clubs, each taking it in turn to host the evening, and is a great opportunity to meet up with photographers from other clubs.

This year the honours went to Cowal Camera Club, who are also next year’s hosts, with the scores as follows:

Cowal Camera — 109 points

Greenock — 107 points

Kilmacolm — 103 points

Gryffe — 101 points

Inverclyde — 95 points

Skelmorlie — 93 points
