Inverclyde Now Logo MAN Charged Over Alleged Attempt To Defraud Pensioner

A GLASGOW man was arrested for allegedly trying to con an Inverclyde pensioner out of a four-figure sum of cash for bogus building work.

Police were contacted by concerned neighbours of the 82-year-old householder in Marloch Avenue, Port Glasgow.

Officers charged a 25-year-old man with attempted fraud. 

He was due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court yesterday.
