Inverclyde Now Logo GROUPS Can Step Out And Raise Funds At Inverclyde Stride

9 May, 2019 | Noticeboard

COMMUNITIES and voluntary sector groups are being encouraged to get teams of walkers together for Inverclyde Stride.

CVS Inverclyde, in partnership with Inverclyde Community Fund, is inviting everyone to join with the event on Saturday 31 August and raise funds for their own good causes

There will be two coastal walk options. An 18 mile route from Parklea Branching Out, Greenock Road, Port Glasgow will start at 9am (registration opens 8am) and will take in many of Inverclyde’s finest sites along the way, including Newark Castle, The Esplanade, Cloch Lighthouse and Ardgowan Estate. It will finish at Inverkip Community Hub.

A four-mile alternative will start at Lunderston Bay at 2pm (registration opens 1pm) and also finish at Inverkip.

The early bird registration fee (open until Friday 31 May) for the 18-mile Inverclyde Stride is £15 per adult, or £30 for a guardian with up to two children. This includes a pre-walk warm-up for participants at Parklea Branching Out, an environmentally-friendly water bottle for topping up en route, a medal on completion and post-event party at Inverkip Community Hub. From Saturday 1 June, the full price registration will be £20 per adult or £40 for a guardian and up to two children.

Organisations with five or more walkers are eligible for a discount.

For individual participants taking part in the four-mile Inverclyde Stride, early bird registration is £5 per person, with the full price of £10 applying from Saturday 1 June.

A welcome pack will be issued to walkers following registration. It will contain more details about Inverclyde Stride, as well as how they can raise funds for their own good cause and benefit from Gift Aid via the Inverclyde Community Fund Just Giving website.

They will be invited to set up their own page where donations will be gathered, with all money raised distributed directly to the individual community group or voluntary organisation by the Inverclyde Community Fund following the event.

Further details, including registering teams of five of more walkers, are available from Pam Shaw, funding consultant, CVS Inverclyde — 01475 711733 or pam.shaw@cvsinverclyde.org.uk.
