Inverclyde Now Logo GROUPS Can Find Out About Having Their Say On Services

18 April, 2018 | Noticeboard

A FREE workshop is being held about a new way for people to have their say about improvements they would like to see made to the public services they use.

The event about ‘participation requests’ is for community groups and organisations and is being hosted by CVS Inverclyde and delivered by the Scottish Community Development Centre.

It takes place in the CVS Inverclyde Training Room, Inverclyde Community Hub, 75 to 81 Cathcart Street, Greenock on Tuesday 22 May, 10am to 1pm, followed by a buffet lunch.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “By making a participation request, a community group can start a discussion about how to improve public services, directly with organisations in charge — such as hospitals, schools and transport providers.

“This free workshop is a chance for community groups and organisations to find out more, as well as how to go about making a participation request and what to think about before they do. So if groups would like to see public services delivered better and think they could help improve them if their ideas were taken on board, then this workshop is for them.”

People interested in attending the workshop should register their interest as early as possible as places are limited.

Registration can be made via Eventbrite where further details are also available. Participation requests are part of Scottish Government Community Empowerment legislation.
