GOUROCK Golf Club Packed For Burns Supper

GOUROCK Golf Club held its 54th annual Burns Supper.

The clubhouse was full as chairman for the night Captain Bill Hawthorne welcomed 105 members and their guests.  

The club had organised some great speakers with the renowned Isabel Lind OBE starting with a thought-provoking and informative Immortal Memory, the equally well-kent Jock Service keeping everybody entertained with a humorous toast to the lassies and sports broadcaster and  member of the exclusive Robert Burns Guild of Speakers , Alison Walker, providing an excellent reply.

Songs from Lucy McCue and recitations from John McLeman added to a great programme for the evening which was further enhanced by Allan Easton’s expert piping. The traditional meal served up by club chef Adrian Magnano was excellent and, during it, all lady guests were presented with a red rose with the gentleman enjoying a ‘wee nip’.

Ex-captain David Burnie closed the night with a vote of thanks.
