GREENOCK Camera Club hold their second monthly competition this week.

Print entries can be any subject, while digital theme is “I was there”.

Club president Campbell Skinner said: “We are fortunate to have the services of top Scottish photographer and judge Mark McColl from Ayr Photographic who will be providing us with constructive comments on the work submitted which covers a wide range of subject matter this month, so it will be an interesting and enjoyable evening.

“Anyone interested in photography is invited to the club to see how to improve their pictures and enjoy the frank assessment of our work by someone who is a skilled photographer and judge.”

The meeting is in Greenock Golf Club, Forsyth Street on Thursday (1 February) at 7.15pm.

Meanwhile, on Friday night (2 February), members head to the Pirrie Hall at the end of The Esplanade to attend the Simpson Memorial Trophy competition.

This is competed for by local camera clubs and hosted by Inverclyde Camera Cub this year. Doors open at 7pm. Six prints and six digital images are submitted by each club and scored out of 20 by the judge. There will be an entry fee at door.

Campbell said: “The competition is an opportunity for members of local camera clubs to join together for the evening and share their interest in photography as well as a small matter of a competition to be won!”
