AN open day is being held to mark the launch a climate change initiative at Broomhill Gardens and Community Hub in Greenock.

Inverclyde Association for Mental Health have received a grant to run a Climate Challenge Fund project aimed at reducing food waste, cooking with low-carbon ingredients, and increasing local food growing and composting.

The community event takes place on Friday 26 July, from noon to 2pm at the facility in Mearns Street and will feature interactive climate conversations, snacks, games, entertainment, and a tour of the gardens including new facilities funded by the Climate Challenge Fund.

People will be able to discuss the aims of the project and how they can get involved in future workshops, classes, partnerships and events. All ages will be welcome.
