Inverclyde Now Logo COMMUNITY Event For Greenock East/Central Residents

4 March, 2020 | Noticeboard

AN event is being held to give Greenock East and Central residents the opportunity to have their say about ways they can help shape the future of their own neighbourhoods.

It takes place on Saturday 14 March, 11am to 1pm in Inverclyde Community Hub, 75-81 Cathcart Street, in Greenock town centre. Lunch, tea, coffee and cakes will be provided.

The event is being hosted by the Our Place Our Future community initiative in partnership with Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership and Inverclyde Alliance.

Our Place Our Future programme manager Bill Clements urged residents of Greenock East and Central to go along to share their ideas. He said: “As we start this new decade in 2020, it’s the perfect time for people to get involved and have their say.

“It’s also a great opportunity to meet friends and neighbours and talk about how to get together and make a difference, perhaps by giving up some spare time to contribute to making neighbourhoods more friendly, inviting places in which to live, work and play. We look forward to welcoming residents to the event.”

The Our Place Our Future (OPOF) team, continues to get out and about meeting residents face to face, as well as getting existing and new groups together to talk about opportunities. The team, which has helped establish six new community groups already, can be contacted for further information on 01475 711733 or ourfuture@cvsinverclyde.org.uk.

Our Place Our Future Greenock East and Central is being delivered by third-sector organisation CVS Inverclyde and covers Gibshill, Strone, Weir Street, Cartsdyke, Bridgend, Greenock town centre, Wellpark, Drumfrochar, Broomhill and Prospecthill.
