Inverclyde Now Logo CHRISTIAN Initiative Holding Half Night Of Prayer

25 October, 2017 | Noticeboard

INVERCLYDE Christian Initiative is holding a half night of prayer for the district.

It takes place in Barnard’s Court Mission in East Hamilton Street, Greenock from 8pm to midnight on Monday (30 October). People are free to come and go anytime within those times.

Chris Jewell from the initiative said: “We already meet to pray as Inverclyde Intercessors on the first Saturday of each month at Barnard’s Court Mission at 9.30am for an hour or so to which church ministers/leaders and members of their congregations are also warmly invited to attend and participate in, but every now and then we feel a special burden for the area and come together to pray for a longer period.

“We are aware as Christians that prayer makes such a difference and I know this is particularly true for our Street Pastor and Healing Room teams, amongst others.

“Prayer can change atmospheres as well as people’s lives and their situations for good and at this time we want to pray for our young people, specific events we have coming up and also for the general good of the community. We encourage all local Christians who can spend a little time with us on Monday to come along.”

Inverclyde Christian Initiative was set up in 2004 and is responsible for the Street Pastor, Rail Pastor and Inverclyde Healing Rooms services operating in Inverclyde as well as supporting other local Christian initiatives and outreach activities.
