THE first competition of the season for Greenock Camera Club members will be judged at their meeting on Thursday (30 November).

Jim Stevenson from Kilmaurs Camera Club will assess the 101 entries in the open subject print and digital contest.

Club president Campbell Skinner said: “It is particularly pleasing to see so many prints in the competition. The judging nights are one of the best evenings to learn how to improve your pictures.

“The judge has indicated that he will be looking for good composition, sharpness, good exposure and straight horizons. He likes to see good post-production skills and the picture should not be over-processed using software.

“Most importantly his comments will be constructive and help each photographer improve their image taking.”

The meeting is at Greenock Golf Club, Forsyth Street, starting at 7.15pm prompt. Visitors are welcome.
