Inverclyde Now Logo APPEAL For Children’s Panel Recruits

1 September, 2017 | Noticeboard

A CAMPAIGN to recruit around 20 new members for Inverclyde Children’s Panel has been launched.

The panel makes decisions to help improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Panel members are people from the community who come from a wide range of backgrounds, volunteering their time, skills and commitment to make decisions in the best interests of the children and young people that come to hearings.

They deal with cases that are often complex, difficult and emotionally challenging. Members are carefully selected and highly-trained for their role.

Hearings are held in a centre run by the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) at Brisbane Street, Greenock.

An information session for people interested in becoming panel members is being held on Saturday 16 September at 1pm at Greenock Town Hall.

People can apply to join the panel online
