COASTAL Meadow With Willow Dome Among Proposals To Brighten Up Greenock Harbourside

27 November, 2020 | Planning

DESIGNS for public realm improvements at a Greenock harbour have been submitted for planning approval.

Benches, planters, seating bollards, musical instruments and telescopes would be installed at East India Harbour under the proposal.

Active travel charity Sustrans Scotland has been working with the community to develop temporary ways of making the quayside more attractive and friendly to residents and visitors as part of their Pocket Place scheme.

Plans include turning an existing grass area at a former drydock into a coastal meadow with a willow dome structure.

Musical instruments would include pipe drums or rainbow bongos, bell chimes and a xylophone/metalophone.

The proposals are being assessed by Inverclyde Council planners.
