Inverclyde Now Logo CHATTY Cafe Starting At Greenock Church

14 October, 2019 | Noticeboard

GREENOCK Baptist Church is starting a Chatty Cafe at its building in St Andrew Square.

The national Chatty Cafe scheme encourages cafes to set up tables for those who want an opportunity for a chat.

The scheme was started in response to concern that many people who are isolated or lonely greatly miss the opportunity of just chatting with others.

Greenock Baptist intend opening their whole cafe area as a chatty cafe on three Wednesdays every month, from 10am until noon. The first Wednesday will be 23 October.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits will be available. There will be no specific charge to be paid, but a box will be available for those who can contribute to help offset the costs.

The cafe will be run by volunteers, both from the church and from the community.
