
MEMBERS of the public and civic leaders gathered for Inverclyde’s proclamation ceremony and service of commemoration.
The local proclamation for King Charles III took place at Clyde Square, Greenock on Sunday with the service following at Wellpark Mid-Kirk.


There was a tribute to Her Majesty the Queen by the Rev William Boyle and a reading by Provost Drew McKenzie. The Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire Colonel Peter McCarthy said a prayer.





— A book of condolence has been opened at Greenock Municipal Buildings. It will be available during normal opening hours until the day of the funeral. This weekend it will be available on Saturday, 2 to 4pm, and Sunday, 1 to 4pm.
— Flags are being flown at half-mast in Greenock, Gourock and Port Glasgow, until the morning of Tuesday 20 September.
— Members of the community who wish to lay flowers to mark the death of HM The Queen are encouraged to place them at Clyde Square at the area used each year for the Garden of Remembrance.
