CARE Homes’ Covid Death Tolls Published

THE number of covid-related deaths at Inverclyde’s care homes is revealed in new figures published today.

Data for the whole of Scotland released to the BBC by the Crown Prosecution Service shows that the pandemic death toll among care home residents is 51. Inverclyde’s official total number of covid deaths is 213.

A third of the care home residents who have died were at one facility — Larkfield View, Greenock — which has had 17 deaths.

Balclutha Court has had 14 deaths, Kincaid House 10 and Bagatelle five.

Five other locations are listed as having had one death each — Sir Gabriel Wood’s Mariners’ Home (now closed), Merino Court, Marchmont, Glenfield and Belleaire House.
