A LARGE cannabis cultivation — with an estimated street value of between £600,000 to £1million — was allegedly found by police in Port Glasgow.

Two males — aged 40 and 16 — have been arrested and charged following the alleged discovery at a disused bingo hall in Brown Street around noon on Friday.

They are expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.

Two police cars were guarding the premises today.

Area commander Chief Inspector Paul Cameron stated: “This is an excellent example of our on-going commitment to dismantle the illegal drug trade here in Inverclyde.

“We made a commitment to tackle this illegal drug trade and are fully committed to bringing those responsible to justice.”

Anyone with information regarding other drug cultivations is urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
