BUS Route Being Cancelled Because Of Low Passenger Numbers

5 January, 2023 | Local, Noticeboard

MCGILL’S Buses are withdrawing their 530 service between Kilmacolm and Port Glasgow.

The last day of operation will be Saturday 21 January.

It will mean there is no public transport link between Kilmacolm and Inverclyde during the day, Monday to Saturday.

The operator stated: “This route, introduced in 2020, has unfortunately suffered from low passenger numbers and has never been able to cover even the basic costs of operation.”

The early morning and early evening journeys on service X7 will continue to operate to/from Greenock, along with journeys supported by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport during the later evenings and all day on Sundays.
