A TEENAGE boy was arrested after police saw him allegedly in possession of a sword.
The 16-year-old was stopped by officers in the Oronsay Avenue area of Port Glasgow on Friday.
He was arrested and taken into custody and will appear at court at a later date.
A report will be submitted to prosecutors.
Community Policing Inspector Paul Thompson stated “This is an excellent example of the hard work and pro-active efforts of Inverclyde police officers to remove offensive weapons from the streets of Inverclyde.
“If anyone has information regarding persons who carry our use weapons please report it to police or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
