ELITE Academy of Dance didn’t let covid restrictions get in the way of their annual summer show.

The ballet school danced around Inverclyde, from Newark Castle to Inverkip Beach and many places in between, filming the performances for online screening.

Owner Julie Kavanagh explained: “After coming back from lockdown, we felt it was important to return with a positive outlook and give our students something fun and exciting to work on.”

Filming of the show took place over 10 days with all 25 classes performing at an Inverclyde location, enjoying sunshine but also braving some rain and midges.

Julie continued: “It was a logistical challenge and I don’t think I have ever checked the weather forecast so much in my life, but it was great fun and all our dancers were superb with the added bonus of some stunning local scenery as our backdrop.”

Despite some rain despite, midges, and some sunshine as well the dancers won through.

The full show is being live-streamed on Saturday (26 June) at 7.30pm on the Elite Academy of Dance Facebook page.
